Cockatiels

The first bird that feels like a friend.

Our cockatiels are handled from day 7, weaned on a mix of hand-feeding formula and soft foods, and step-up trained before they leave. They whistle back, learn their names, and sit on a shoulder for hours. These are not cage birds.

Green Cheek Conures

Big personality. Apartment-friendly volume.

Green cheeks are the conure for people who want a parrot's intelligence without a macaw's decibels. Ours are socialized in pairs then transitioned to human contact — they learn that hands mean play, not threat. Expect a bird that hangs upside down from your collar and steals your dinner.

Society Finches

The gentle hum of a house that feels alive.

Society finches don't step up or learn tricks — they give you something quieter: the sound of a small life going about its business. Soft chatter, busy movement, the flash of wings. Ideal for homes that want ambient life without the demand. We breed for calm temperament and sell in pairs.

The Breeder

I open every nestbox
the same way.

My name is Clara Whitmore. I started with a single pair of cockatiels in 2014 and a care sheet I'd photocopied from the library. Twelve years later, I have three species, a proper aviary room, and the same photocopied sheet — now laminated — pinned to the wall.

Every clutch is monitored from day one. I pull chicks for hand-feeding at day 10 to 14, depending on the species, and I start handling before their eyes are open so that human hands are the first thing they learn to trust. By the time they go home, they've heard your voice's frequency in a hundred different people.

I don't sell a bird I wouldn't keep. If a chick is showing stress signs, it stays. If a mutation didn't turn out the way I hoped, I tell you. The price on the card is the price — no negotiating, no hidden shipping fees, no surprises.

From Their Homes

What they say.

Real buyers. Real birds. First names and bird names included, because that's how breeders talk.

"I researched for eight months before I called Clara. She talked to me for forty minutes about whether a cockatiel was right for my apartment before she even mentioned availability. Butter has been with me two years and whistles the opening of Jeopardy every morning."
Lutino cockatiel named "Butter"

First Bird

"I've bought from three breeders. Clara is the only one who sent a two-page care sheet written in her own hand, a bag of the exact seed mix Mango was eating, and a follow-up text three days later asking how the first night went. Mango stepped up on day one."
Pineapple green cheek conure, "Mango"

Experienced Keeper

"My granddaughter kept asking for a dog. I got her finches instead. Now we both sit at the kitchen table every morning watching them. Clara explained that finches don't want to be held — they want to be watched. That turned out to be exactly right for us."
Pair of society finches, "Salt & Pepper"

First Bird

"I breed lovebirds and came to Clara for a cockatiel to round out my home flock. The lineage documentation she provides is better than most pedigree dog breeders I know. Biscuit is the most well-socialized bird I've ever worked with."
Pearl cockatiel, "Biscuit"
